The cottage is stunningly beautiful, deceivingly spacious on the inside, beautifully decorated, picturesque scenery, absolutely fantastic, the pictures really do not do it justice.
We stayed here as we got married at Castle Bolton and it was even better than what we had hoped for, magical. Best weekend ever.

The woman who dealt with us - Jill - did not send us any details about checking in. Jill showed us round and didn't mention that there is no hot water if you do not turn on the boost switch where the emergen heater is located, this actually made us late for a special meal with family. On the day of our wedding I received an email from Jill " sorry to bother you today of all days but the private village water supply is rapidly going down. Could you please check to see that no taps have been left running in Crooked Acres- and if possible don’t use too much water! Jill."
I couldn't find any tap to be left on and checked with Jill if we would be alright having showers, baths etc for the rest of our stay. I received an email the following day apologising.
We were initially told that the bin men didn't come until after we had checked out but to leave rubbish at the top of the hill, Jill came round on the morning asking us to take out all our rubbish.
I had a phone call from Jill when we returned home asking where some red bin liners were, I apologised saying I didn't know where they were and tried to explain that that we had had a lot of people helping us with everything , Jill asked if they might be at the castle, I apologised again saying I did not know, Jill's tone of voice changed as she said well thank you, you've been a great help and then hung up the phone.

I do not want to put how I am feeling regarding this communication. The cottage and the location is absolutely breathtaking. I certainly would not want anyone to be put off from staying here.
